Kiersten at URBANSCAPES!
It was all fun for us all! Such a great weekend outing! KL needs this more often to encourage and promotes the ARTsy FARTsy stuff. It should be brought to phenomenal heights. We saw a few cool parents like US :D that brought their kids there. And they are as young as Kiersten!
She had such great fun there...
Checking out the DJ's spinning
Rappers rapping their stuff
Disco lights and its ambient (not too sure bout encouraging this :B
Trash Drummers
Seeing the Ducks for the first time.. she must be wondering why are they in white n NOT the usual yellow ones in her story books.
Seeing Koi
Picking stones and throwing it around (such simple act, but it is such BIG thing to her. She had seen stones before .. ok. Or rather pebbles .. :(
Enjoy lepaking on the grass field
Kinda confussed her a little when we told her we were going to the PARK. She was expecting ppl playing the basketball, football, badminton, see-saw, swing, slides untill she SAW URBANSCAPE kinda PARK! She kept asking for .. 'ball.. ball..'
Every friends that we bump into asked... "is she NOT afraid of the huge crowd and noisy environment?"
My answer to them ... "It is her wildest dream comes true!!!" .. for those who know her.. will know how sociable she is and having all the attention is a definite confidence booster to her.
Yeah, with a bonus of all the beautiful 'che-che' giving kisses to her, Da Da try to "Tumpang Glamour" too... he wish he is the one being KISSED too! Ha Ha...

Sweet Memory of Yeh Yeh
A Moment of Silent in Prayer.... AMEN
My memories with Yeh Yeh .......... I wish it can be longer...
Running around the house, the yard, the orchard, the sawmill all day long.
Having fresh coconut water, Yeh Yeh will pluck it from the TALL coconut tree at the back orchard for everyone. Especially when Ku mah is going back to Hong Kong, she will have a sack of coconut to bring home, since it is so expensive in HK.
Eating my favourite 'chut chi' made by Yeh Yeh... his n my BEST OF ALL TIMES FAv.
Going for tea with Yeh Yeh in kopitiam. He will pour some on the saucer for me. I'll then take some biscuits from the shop to eat.
Getting $$$ from Yeh Yeh and run to the Ice kacang shop to buy junks ... all day long
Yeh Yeh's favourite ... Warm stout, chut chi, lo mai chi, nam yu pau, KFC, Ayam goreng, Teh Tarik, and anything sweet. He got sweet tooth!
Following Yeh Yeh to the sawmill at night for his 'Tai Luk Chuk' puff.
Going to Jenderata, Nova Scotia with Yeh Yeh in the Land Rover. He will be driving, and me the Monkey at the back swinging from one end to the other ... imagine the off road into estates... and i was only 6 or 7 years old!
He working, and i'll be playing with the boys, whether it is in the estates or sawmill.
He will givethe roof top a new coat every CNY.
He tend the orchard and his pets ... chicken, geese, duck with Yen Yen.
He speaks his 'Sun Leng Wa' which Chris always imitate. He thinks it sounded like some 'Guai Lou' talking Cantonese. Actually, it is the 'Mak Kar' language (the balded chinese Comedian in Aces goes Places).
Yeh Yeh is the BEST grand pa anyone can ask for.
He never had any temper, he is the coolest and most well mannered man for those who know him.
Yeh Yeh always go out of his way to help anyone that is in need of help.
Yeh Yeh is 93 years old... Strong & healthy, with a clean bill of health records that stunts doctors all the time. His hair was not even a strand of grey.
Having celebrate CNY with him and the recent one,in April... dinner. Having Guinness Stout (Yeh Yeh's Favourite) and cigi (yeah, we got scolded by Yen Yen)with him was all fun and laughter that i can remember. I can still hear myself laughing ... loud and clear too. Oblivious to the fact i guess.
It was then in April, and now in June, everything else changed.
A call from mum on Tues 15/6 in the morning. Mum don't call me in the morning. I first got the news, Yeh Yeh fainted while walking to answer a call. But luckily Yen Yen was fast enough to hold on to him. He did not fall. Yen Yen put him on a chair since he was sort of still conscious. But this time he rolled down from it.
Sam ku went ahead to the clinics around to ask for aid from Doctors. And what she got was ... either they are busy or they have no one to watch over their clinic. How CRUEL. A fallen patient and they can be so cold. Sam ku decided to call for the ambulance from Red Crescent. Yeh Yeh was left on his own wif Yen Yen for almost an hour for an ambulance. Then he arrived in the Hospital at last.
While waiting for the doctors report, i was praying ... don't let it be a stroke.
Mum called. She confirmed, Yeh Yeh had a stroke. He was still very conscious and active. In fact when the doctor asked him whether can he still lift up his left limbs, he insisted he can and he did. But in actual fact he was unable to. His eyes was closed all the time.
He fought a good fight, waited for all to be back, and wish him a last good bye and to send him off ... he was at peace. At least i got to 'fuk si' Yeh Yeh for the last time like how he did for me when i was young.
A small way of me saying 'tor cheh yeh yeh' and 'choi kin ler'... He still managed to wish me & chris 'Sang yi Heng Lung' and Yeh yeh & Yen Yen usual very 'hark hei' self... said 'tor che' to chris n me for visiting him...
i'm lost for words for this two immaculate soul ...
God Bless Yeh Yeh... Peace be with him ... We will meet again ....

Happy Mothers' day ... Kiersten wif LUV
It was a very memorable day for ME of course. First time having so may weill wishes wishing me a 'Happy Mothers' Day', frens smsing me.
May it be accidental, Kiersten gave me a Fuschia Carnation :) It is my fav colour, though may not be a fav flower :)
Sweet of her.
But yeah, i guess anything from her will be definitely well cherished even though it may be a dunk!
Can't wait till she celebrates her own Mothers' day :)
Accidental Makan trip in Ipoh
WOW! It has been such a long time Chris & i had a makan affair like this. The food was superb! With a touch of an old Kopitiam flair to it definitely. The drink + toast is OGIGINAL... not the imitation kind we have in KL like Old Town Kopitiam, K3K, etc.
It's Ipoh... the food destination for ALL. Scrape the Chicken rice, that is so commercialised!
Try Wah Pan the kopitiam.
Apostrophe Short Short Story event in Glass Hse
Indeed it was a FUN nite out ...
Meeting all the FUN people and all the crazy conversation ...
and yeah more boost! All the way from Apostrophe to Wabisabi with a bunch of new friends. Sweet!
Back in TI
It is always good to have a Hometown to go back to.
Especially for Kiersten, it is a different exposure of growing up.
Indeed it was ... with all the different environment in a TOWN!
eatery places ... simple Kopitiam that serves curry mee the old style, kuan low noodle wif local made belacan , the BEST!
No air-condition ... everywhere you go. Free sun tanning services :)
No High tech high chair ... all the more interesting for Kiersten. In fact it was fascinating to her!
Cows eating grass ... At least she had a look at a real cow. It freaks me realising how City kids grow up to be like... only having seen all the farm animals in BOOKS! How scary!
Visit to the wet market ... mummie needed to buy grocery for Kiersten
It was an Indian festival in town ... Kiersten get to see the Charade, buy some Indian bangles to wear :) Hot + Stuffy + FUN nite out for her. Since back home bedtime is at 7pm.
Looking forward to the next trip already. I'm pretty sure Kong-kong & Por-Por is super looking forward seeing Kiersten too! The sunburst laughter she gave them, the kisses,... they misses her dearly.
