Season has ended today: 12th day of Christmas!

It was such great fun for Kiersten and Christian ... a season full of surprises and pressies almost every other day! It was a bang (pressie loaded day .. by the hour) as usual on our yearly Christmas party which we celebrated on 31.12 instead of 25.12 since we were in Hong Kong during then. The wonderful trip was also part of the Christmas present from DaDa :)
Thanks everyone that made it to the party and the beautiful pressies to the kids! They love it all!

Another milestone in life ... CONGRATULATIONS Darling!

Dear Kiersten,

Tomorrow will be your big day ... your very first graduation, and many more to come.
Dada, mummy & your little craziee brother; Christian are so proud of you. Both your grandparents do too. And even our dear Wafle :)
Mummy was overwhelmed when i first saw your graduation picture. Tears welled-up as expected. You look every bit gorgeous (a word you often as me ... ) and most confident.

It seems like yesterday when you first attended playgroup when you were 2 ... and now, you are on your way to explore real school life, meeting life long friends which they will be what you'll call them childhood friend, you'll meet BFFs just like how mummy met Aunty Elayn 27 years ago and had become soul mate ever since. You'll go through exams, last minute revisions (i sure hope not, but can't help at times ... i think), and much later of course ... burning the midnight oil.

There will be many challenges in life - ups and downs, tears of joy and tears of sadness at times. It will be an adventures journey. Along with it, you will always have GOD, Dada, Mummy, Christian with you. You'll always have GOD's blessing.

Learn in your baby steps, take charge of your life, love yourself, love your life, everything you do ... do it with your greatest passion, enjoy your most wonderful young life.

Impromptu Trip to "My Home Town" Teluk Intan

It was an impromptu trip back to Teluk Intan last weekend. In fact, it was a much needed and long overdue trip. Missing the great food, the serenity of the people and the town itself.

For myself, it is an an escape from the hustle and bustle of KL, work, deadlines, pitches, and whatever city-like ...
For Chris, it is the Nasi Kandar, Yong-tau-fu, chee-cheong-fun, and TV/Movie marathon, chillaxing ...
For Kiersten & Christian, they both misses Kong-Kong & Po-Po, sitting in their car and cruising with no car sit except with a belt ... in their own words "just like the adults", checking out cows in the field, chicken taking a stroll in the neighborhood during evening, and the fun goes on ...

WE ALL JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF TELUK INTAN!

This time round, we re-visit the "Leaning Clock Tower". They are both now old enough to walk up the steep and narrow stairs leading up to the tower. How cool!

Next is food ...

We certainly can't get enough of the good food. It is often so delicious and we are chomping it down to the last bit ... taking pictures is the last thing in my mind. The good food is not getting lesser, but instead growing like mushrooms after the rain. This is a NEWly set-up kuey-teow stall in my parent's housing area. Tried it and it is not too bad, just lacking the tasty pork-lard oil. For a RM3 packet of kuey-teow, it can feed 2 adults ... it is that generous.

We will be back soon for more since we missed the Nasi Kandar & Mee Rebus this time round. They were closed due to Ramadhan :(

MORE about Teluk Intan

Cantonese Fried Yee Mee

Yee Mee according to Wikipedia is "a type of fried, chewy noodles made from wheat flour and egg or lye-water".
Here in KL, you can buy it anywhere; market, Chinese sundry shops and hypermarkets.

Yee Mee is Kiersten's and Christian's favourite staple. Whether it is made soupy or dry "kuo lou", they will never say no to it, but instead ... asking for more.

Since, it is their favourite ... i'd made it into their Lunch Box hall-of-fame!

This is how i cook the "kuo lou" Yee Mee ...

Ingredients (made for 2 Tods)
1 1/2 Yee Mee
6 Cherry tomato (you can have a variety of your favourite vegetables such as corn, sweet pea, bok choy, the list goes on)
50g Minced Chicken (HALAL for school)
1/2 clove Garlic
2 tbsp Olive Oil

To Prepare Ingredients:
1 tsp Soya Sauce to marinate minced chicken (for 5 mins will do)
Halved Cherry Tomatoes
Minced Garlic

To Prepare Yee Mee "kuo Lou" sauce:
2 tbsp Soya Sauce
2 tbsp sweet sauce (Kicap Manis)
1 tsp Sesame Oil
A dash of White Pepper

To Cook:

• Boil a small pot of water to cook the Yee Mee just like how you cook Maggi Mee - simmer for 8mins to be really soft
• Then remove from pot and drain the water

At the same time ...

• Stir fry minced garlic and cherry tomato to slightly brown
• Mix the minced chicken in and stir fry slightly
• Pour in the cooked Yee Mee to stir fry for a minute
• Pour in the "sauce" mixture and continue to stir fry for another 1 min

Ta-da .... ready to serve and enjoy :)

Daily Grind

My daily grind starts at 645am ... making my in-famous "to school lunch-box" for Kiersten & Christian. Since it is the most important meal of the day, it has to start off right! I refused to give them just the mundane biscuits, bread with jam / peanut butter, buns, etc to school.

And it is always good to know they are LOVING IT!

WHO needs a reason to blow a cake? Mummy thought it would be fun since they LOVE blowing cake. It is such pitty to only get to do it on BIRTHDAY! Nope, mummy don't agree with that. The result ... they had such great fun!!!

DIY ... Easter Egg Hunt!

Our day started off early! With me heading towards our home park to layout the 'treasures' (Papier Mache Eggs and Chocolates), laying clues, and instructions for the kids! ONCE done ... Wholoa .. Dada brought them to the 'Treasure Park'! We have the entire park to ourselves since no parents in their right mind will be heading to the park with their kids in the morning under 37 degrees :P

Listening to instructions diligently ... like real kan? They are taking it very seriously ok ... in-search of 'treasures'!

Kiersten has a plan in mind already :) But she knows the rule ... every treasure they found include 'TWO' prizes ... obviously one for each ... in a way .. they are actually working as a 'TEAM' rather than working individually to out- beat each other ... brilliant!

Christian: Yeh! It's Chocolate!!! (hahaha but it's all melted due to the hot weather ... sent it home and straight into the fridge before they get to savor it during tea-time ... yup, only get to have a small bite each during tea-time ... wicked mummy!)

Yup ... since we all had FUN! FUN! FUN! earlier in the Park ... we continue it back home after breakie ...

Ermmmm ... yup, and FUN includes doodling ... NOT just on papers ... but kinda 'tattooing' our body too!

Chilling out on a lazy Sunday

Dada decided to join us at the park after breakie. And since he had promised Kiersten & Christian for a 'picnic' sometime back, he walked from home with a bag loaded with some snacks for them (1st time eating YenYen dip in stick) and wine for us :) Imagine the excitement from the kids!



The day was breezie though slightly hot ... but it won't kill since it's the morning sun ... Earlier, we were playing in the playground next to where we were sitted. And then started exploring in climbing around the landscape in the park. Such fun ... chasing the butterflies, stomping on ants, running about like some craziee bunch ... yup ... we certainly had some stares. Who cares!

It is totally epic and mesmerizing! (*I kept using exclamation marks ... dats how i feel ... totally proud & awesome) What makes us different is we walked down in HISTORY ... :) We are the FIRST Digital Agency to be awarded so!!! Our long, late nights, quarellings & squabblings, brain dead brainstorm sessionS ... totally paid off.

It is totally remarkable for us Ifians (dats wat we call ourselves ... am totally honoured to be one) ... In comparison to ALL agencies, we have the smallest team ... with 20 odd of us (Creative cum servicing cum programming, Programming cum creative, Servicing cum highclass despatch cum tea lady, Multitasking roles, etc, etc, etc ....) in comparison to ALL international big boys ... and yeah we are ALL 100% Malaysian Chop :), and most in their early 2os (well, i am one of the few above 30ish lar in the team ... bleh ... so what ...) Even when we stood up on stage with McCann (Agency of the Year 2010 too), they almost pushed us ALL off stage! (We were all cramped at a corner and tried hanging on and not dropped off stage)

I ... felt honored having an opportunity to work with these whole bunch of CRAZIEEEE but AMAZING people!!!

BALI is Heaven on Earth! We misses it like crazieeee ... it has been 3 months since we left for holidays. It has been great place, amazingly friendly & humble people, great booze ALL day long, GILA SEDAP food ... Chris & i reminisce it all the time ... we can't wait till our next trip to the Island ...
