Chinese Dumpling 'Chung' by Yen Yen

Yen Yen is my paternal grandma. Why such manner of addressing instead of a common Ma Ma? Well that's because we are the 'Sun Ling' dialect speaking people within the Cantonese Clan. Further information into the heritage ... well i guess i'll need the World Wide Web ... best libray ... Wikipedia! Guess it is the NOW generation problem ... we are losing touch, sense, love and care to our heritage! Coz we are too busy, too caught up in our own world! What's everybody's heritage now? LOMO, iPad, anything APPLE, Wii Console, ... and the list of canggih heritage goes-on.
I love my Yen YEn's 'Chung' very much. Yen Yen and my late Yeh Yeh (you guess it right, my paternal grandpa) will be spending nights of sleepless night to boil & cook the 'Chung' in a big pot under the charcoal stove before the dumpling festival. Lots of work and patience ... guess that piece of positive enthusiasim is the essence of ALL CHINESE whoever, & wherever we are (since most of us are migrants, unless if you leave in China and you are a Chinese, you are considered leaving in your kampung lor. Nope, not right? At least i think that way).
I was pondering on the thought of learning the craft of making 'chung' (craft of wrapping, cooking the ingredient, cooking the FINAL wrapped 'chung'), would love to preserve the heritage and continue the culture in the family. Hopefully i'll be able to bring on this culture & heritage to Kiersten OR Christian one day ... if they don't mind learning!

P/S: Hahaha ... Moon cake festival is near and here i am talking about 'chung' only now :) Blame it on my 'BUSY with the NET Heritage' :P
