People hanging out under the old shady tree ...
Love the Architecture in KLPac ... Hope this will stay and not be demolished :P
Electric Tea-Party (http://www.urbanscapes.com.my/news/2010/6/24/electric-tea-party.html) It was pretty awesome!!! You can just 'place / poke / stir / etc" your fingers into the little tea cups (which filled with IKEA looking glass pebbles) and it will create random sound that jives with the background music. Something IF/ can do :P certainly!!!
Unfortunately this cool piece was tucked at a hidden corner. Those that stumbled upon it were usually trying to use a short cut from the main hall to the entrance or market area. Should have it a little more upfront though.
It was such a cool event you wouldn't even mind having the entire 'Family' there .. from the youngest to the eldest! And it is not an unfamiliar sight. We took Kiersten to the much previous Urbanscapes and she ceratinly had soooo much Fun too! Why aren't Kiersten & Christian there this time? Well, guess then you don't have so Viruses like Influenza OR HFM Desease around. Valid kan? http://lynettecheng.blogspot.com/2008/07/kiersten-at-urbanscape.html

Hoody-Hoody-Hood!!!

Love this to bits :)
Superbly cheeky .. Christian was imitating cheh-cheh's cheeky expression when Dada said "Close your eyes and chew-chew-chew" (Chris's manner of getting Kiersten to chew her food) . Funny is he can't exactly close his eyes entirely but only managed to do so partially but with a grin :P

Blocks .. Blocks .. Blocks .. & MORE Blocks!!!

This block is for Kiersten ... 'Snow-White-Princess-Block' :)
Yeh-Yeh ... the 'Principal-of-Play' back home for Kiersten & Christian!!! He is the Block Architect that teaches them with all kinds of blocks- building ...

Mind me, Yeh-Yeh's creations are mind blowing (will try to capture some pictures of it next time round). Yeh-Yeh teaches both how to stack stuff like helicopter, trucks, robots, race cars, castles, princesses (a little robotic looking but really there are differences to each of it!) , animals, etc. Yeh-Yeh even teaches them how to lay-out a train of flat wooden blocks to make 'DOMINOS'!!! They were impressed & was super excited about it!
We also have LEGO blocks (just for Kiersten at the moment since it is in small bits sizes) & also LEGO-looking blocks (bigger blocks size to avoid eating / chewing / swallowing) as an alternative to wooden blocks.
Both Kiersten & Christian had been exposed to BLOCKS since they were both less than a year old and they both love it. And we certainly love it too since it encourages creative play :)

Yeh-Yeh is certainly good with handy craft! I guess because he is from an era where kids need to 'make' their own toys for play. So unlike now, 'Fisher Price' ... boooohhhh!

What Yeh-Yeh had made so far:
+ Home Made Tang-lung (Chinese Lantern for Moon Cake Festival)
+ Animals Paper Origami
+ Kite

Kiersten & Christian love kite flying with Yeh-Yeh on weekends coz the kite does really fly high, high up in the sky. Unlike, when Dada is the one that is flying the kite, we will all need to have double efforts to have the kite fly, leave alone sore high :P Effort like hoping and running around like orang GILA whilst pushing the kite upwards to make it fly (and even with all the effort, the kite will only be up and down even before you can blink your eyes :P HAhahaha ... nevertheless we all had great FUN! In fact the kids finds it more entertaining and hilarious running about like orang gila than having the kite up super fast and just kept staring up at the kite. During those moments, i guess Yeh-Yeh had a moment stolen back to his childhood days and having a light moment just for himself :)

Yeh-Yeh will also bring Christian out every morning for an early morning stroll by the lake. He will always have a loaf of bread with them to feed the fishes by the lake which Christian love most. Kiersten can't join in most morning since she have to prep for school. But she always remind Yeh-Yeh to wake her up on weekends to bring her along.

Chris & i ... certainly appreciate his time, effort and most importantly love he showers upon Kiersten & Christian. Their moments, experience, and encounters with Yeh-Yeh will not be replaceable. And they certainly have the luxury of such moments in comparison to Dada when he was young (Yeh-Yeh needs to work when Dada was young ... just like most of us 'Parents'). It reflects upon me now that i am blogging this post ... 'does that means, we will sorta neglect the precious moments with Kiersten & Christain during their growing up years and instead have more stollen moments with their chidlren?' .... we certainly hope not ... We will TRY not to have history repeats itself ....

Villamaria Sports Day

Sat 8.5.2010 Kiersten's Sports Day! It is her second year in Villamaria and her second Sports Event! The teachers had certainly put in tones of effort in coming out with the activities. Especially in making the kids to be able to execute it with great diligence and discipline. I certainly can't imagine it done without much shouting, black-mailing and even resorting to punishment if it is ME! But thank gudness there were so much of patience in the teachers ... HALLELUYAH!

The children were put to practise almost everyday for almost 2 months. Last year Kiersten was in a Playgroup, therefore she did not contribute much besides running amok :P This year she was taught Negaraku (dada which as usual, not too keen in it. He even resorted to translate it out to something else for Kiersten if i would have not persecuted his plan), School Anthem (Kiersten loves it. She sings it all the time at home), We will Rock You by Queen (which is used for one of her performance during the event).

And how can she not have anything memorable for us for such event!
During one of the practise, her class teacher complaint to me in the presence of Kiersten (i'm not to keen to have her around during complains by anyone, coz it is kinda -ve for her) ...

Converstaion 1
Teacher: Kiersten complaint that the sun is too hot during the practise
Me: Uh .. huh... *So ....*
Teacher: Kiersten asked whyizit so unfair?
Me: Oh ... why? *Getting interested in the conversation*
Teacher: Because the teachers get to stand under the shade whereas they have to stand under the SUN!
Me: Oh ... Nooooo (acting shy) *was sooo proud of her queer remarks actually :)*

Conversation 2
Teacher: Kiersten asked, is her class very poor?
Me: Oh ... why so? *getting interested*
Teacher: .... because the class do not have an air-condition!!!
Me: *FAINT*

Her 'YELLOW' team lost ... but they were still given a bronze medal for the effort! Hooray ... for such sweet thought! Our darling girl had certainly grew a few notches after the Sports Event! Minus her queer remarks (she is getting better ad it ... or should it be worst :P)

Mother's Day Morning Breakie ... with LUV from K & Dada!

Mother's Day this year was a superb buzy one for the entire Family! Started off with Kiersten's Sports Day follow with Mother's Day Celebration and Christian's 1st Birthday. At the same time, gotta layan ALL grandparents (the kids and mine) yi-ma ku-cheh sam-ku lok-po, beloved friends (you guys are the saviour!) that specially make themselves available for Christian's Party :P
Thanks to ALL once more!!!

It started off so superbly sweet when i was expecting a storm ... Kiersten & Dada wake up early to make me breakie .. one of my favourite, easy-peasy breakfast (also my colleague's, San Ling ... he tested it a said it was super yummy too. Well he is no picky on food though)

From one of my easy-peasy recipe!
* It is sooooo super easy, even with me verbalising it, one can visualised & totally know how to do it like an expert!

I call it ... EGG-muffin :)

Estimated cooking time: 10mins preparation + 20mins baking time

Ingredients (for 12 EGG-muffins):
a) Egg - 5 Biji
b) Back Bacon - 150gm (i don't normally buy streaky bacons though it's Chris's fav ... too much fats obviously!)
c) Carrot - 1 whole (medium size)
d) Bombay Onion - 1 big onion
e) Cheddar Cheese
f) Craft Cheese
g) Fresh Milk - 1 cup (Room Temperature)
h) Egg white - from 1 egg to use as polishing
* You may add in miced florets of broccoli, frozen green pea, corn kennel, strawberry, dry apricot, etc ... Be creative!

Pre-cooking:
+ Mince ingredients (b) to (d)
+ Grate cheddar & Craft cheese - enough to fill up a soup bowl. You may half it or having one more than the other type.
+ Stir fry ingredients (c) & (d) in a non-stick pan with a tsp of Olive oil until soft & add in minced Bacon to stir fry
+ Beat the eggs in a bowl
+ Mix cooked ingredients + grated cheese + milk + beaten egg into a bowl - Stir & mix well
+ Apply egg white with a baking brush into muffin tray (this is to avoid sticking to the pan)

Cooking:
+ Heat up oven to 220 degree
+ Scoop in mixture to tray
+ Place tray into Oven
+ My old-faithful oven takes 10 - 15mins to bake the 'Bottom' & 5mins for the 'Top'
+ Once done, take it out from the tray staright, leave to cool & serve!

* You may alternatively serves it with Raspberry OR Lingonberry Jam with a big mug of freshly squeezed juice ... totally a booster to start off the day :)

I was totally smitten, therefore i wish i could have kept the egg-muffins & juice into a Time Capsule!
