Dough Play with Kiersten & Christian
Dough play on a lazy Saturday ... It was all fun with lots of mess done :) Kiersten & Christian ... LOVE it ... Wafle too LOVE eating IT!
What You Need:
+ Flour
+ Warm Water
+ Pinch of salt
+ Whatever safe kitchen utensils you don't mind using as tools ... eg. spoons, chopstick (gotta be watchful on this), plastic shape cutter (to create fun shapes (star, squares, etc)
How it works for us (Kiersten, Christian, Mummie):
+ Pour flour into a medium size plastic container
+ Pour in warm water slowly to mix
+ Place clean hands into it to start kneading
+ It should be sticky, yucky (for the young ones, maybe) and gooey at this point
Encourage them to go on ... oohhh they may take a bite to taste ... well in my case, i am fine with it since it is home made :P
+ Scatter more flour & continue with more kneading
+ It should be nice and dough-ie after a good 10mins of kneading, punching, and rolling ... with lurrve
**Optional .. you may take some part of the plain dough to mix with food colouring of your choice (the more the better ... variety of ingredients for masak-masak)
Extra Tips:
When attention span is getting low with young kids below 1 yr old ... just like Christian (44 weeks old)
Get the pots and pans, spatula, small wok (basically anything of stainless steel and can be used as drum set)
Start the BAND!!!
Be creative ... do a sing-a-long of 'Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star, Baa Baa Black Sheep, etc while clanging on all the 'instruments' (you may want to ping your neighbour in case of out-of-tunes Karaoke :)
Have fun!!!

oooh we love play dough here too! Hey you may want to try using Cream of tartar into your recipe too, and more salt?? When you warm up the water, try to dissolve the salt and then mIx it up when its warm :) (hot even) then you can really get teh texture that is EXACTLY like play-dough.
Hey Grace ... COOL!!! Thanks for the tip ... will try it and let u know how it goes :)
